How To Setup Your Google Places Page

If you have not claimed your business yet, there will be a link near the top that says Business Owner that you can click. Once you click that you can choose to edit your business information including your business name, address, phone number, website address and email address. Make sure your dealership name is correct regarding the makes you carry, enter your website URL, and add a long description of what makes you carry (if a franchise) and whether you offer service, parts and body work. Choosing the categories for your dealership is also important. You can choose up to five categories that best describe your business. Recommended categories are those such as Auto Body Shop, Car Dealer, Used Car Dealer, Oil Change Service, and if you're a franchise dealer choose the makes you carry such as Lexus Dealer, Ford Dealer, etc.

Next, scroll down and enter the hours of operations for your dealership. Then upload some photos of the outside and inside of your dealership. If you have any videos on YouTube you can add them to your Google Places page as well. The last thing you need to do is make sure your location is correct on the map. This is important as Google uses this to make driving directions to your location. Once your information looks good, click the Submit button at the very bottom of the page. Google will need to verify that you are the actual business owner before they make any changes to your page. You can choose to have them call you at the number on your Google Places page or they will send a postcard to your address. You can enter a specific name to receive the postcard at your location. Once you receive the postcard you will need to enter the PIN from it to get your Google Places page changes made live.
